Cake vs. Pie: The Best Idea Ever
Gold bless Jezebel for creating this. This is the sort of tournament I can get into. I literally just filled out the bracket at my desk, you guys. And it was HARD. My projected winner (in my own mind) for the Cake vs. Pie tournament? Rhubarb Pie. Yes, my inner 90-year-old farmgirl emerged and made this the winner. It’s true - I love, love, love Rhubarb.
My final four? Coffee vs. Carrot cake, and Pumpkin vs. Rhubarb pie. This was really, really hard. Red Velvet cake and Coconut cake were matched in the sweet 16 for cakes. That ain’t right. So I decided to let neither win and went with Carrot in the elite 8. The pies were much easier for me though - Brown Sugar Pie? Okay sure. But anyone who picks Lemon Meringue or French Silk should be shot. You know there aren’t real lemons or chocolate in either one of those, right? It’s plastic and air, just so you know.
