My Best NY Plates of 2010!

I’ve been inspired by Adventures of Mascarah to do a recap of my favorite meals in 2010. If there’s one thing I enjoy aside from actually eating a good meal, it’s daydreaming about it and describing it after! Without further ado, here are some of my culinary highlights of 2010 (I really wish I had more pictures to illustrate this too, but don’t worry - my new camera is up and running and my New Year’s resolution to take more pictures is already in full effect!):

- the duck meatloaf, fried chicken, and hush puppies at Buttermilk Channel

- late night cookie sandwiches and banana pudding from Billy’s

- anything from Momofuku Milk Bar

- the amazingly authentic Pho from Co Ba

- the paquetitos de jamonfrom Tia Pol

- the paella from Soccarat

- Raviolo al Uovo at Maialino

- the falafel and french fries with saffron aoli at Taim

- the hummus served in a mortar with pestle at Balaboosta (OK, technically 2011, as I had it last night, but it’s been on my list for months to try out, so I’m including it here!)

- the ‘tots at Trailer Park

- the oyster sushi at Sushi Yasuda

- Tacos de pescado at Pinche Taqueria

- Patatas bravas at Casa Mono

- Ottima breakfast pizza (ricotta, blueberry jam and bacon) at Pulino’s

- Injera bread and doro wett from Ghenet (RIP Nolita location)

- the market-fresh veggie sides from Westville

- coconut chai from Bonobos

Yowza. No wonder I’ve gained a pound or two! I might be taking a mini-break from eating out for a month or so, just to clean up a bit and to make better use of my kitchen. But 2010 sure was a good year for my taste buds. What were your favorites of last year?
