After an amazing Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch, Char and I couldn’t resist checking out the legendary 5-8’s Club in Minneapolis, MN, which is famous for their burger, the Juicy Lucy. It’s two beef patties with cheese (of your choice) cooked inside. When you bite into the burger, it’s up to you to “free the cheese” as the menu encourages. It definetly lived up to his name. Tender meat, melty cheese, and a freshly baked bun that held up to all that juiciness. And although we felt a little guilty digging in to a few burgers just days after the holiday, we actually didn’t feel too heavy or gross afterwards. I think it’s the fresh ingredients that keeps the Juicy Lucy from becoming a Greasy Lucy. If you’re ever in MN, I highly recommend stopping by. If anything, enjoy the super cheap prices - I don’t think anything on the menu was over $10. Score one for the midwest!
