NYC's Cursed Restaurant Spaces
This interactive map is so sad, yet so interesting. I remember so many of these places! I used to work by Steak Frites down on Varick Street, which became Lucy Brownes, and is now about to be something else. I went to Permanent Brunch a few times and really liked it, and now it’s long gone. So weird when you think about what sort of holes survive and why certain places just can’t seem to make it. It really does come down to real estate after all. Which makes me wonder…is Colicchio feeling lucky?
