Jay-Z's Memoir is Leaked...On Restaurant Tables
A few weeks ago the Times detailed how ad agency Droga5 would communicate the release of Jay-Z’s memoir, Decoded, and the campaign’s finally out. To help promote its release, excerpts from Decoded are popping up all over Manhattan and BK in places he references within it. So for example, tabletops at the Spotted Pig this week have pages of the book printed on them. Pizza boxes, waiters’ uniforms, etc. There’s a bit of a scavenger-hunt element with to it too (Bing is backing the campaign as well), but I can’t get over how clever this is. Way to go, David Droga. I usually don’t enjoy advertising with my gnudi but for Jay I’ll make an exception.
