Scoot over and grab a fork!

I love food, I love cooking, and I love all things New York City. Email me at leslie@mynyplate.com for dining ideas or recipes.

Please draw your attention to the area on the right of the table - in the back what you have there is a mama-MyNYPlate Christmas dessert tradition: Cranberry Crack - I mean - Cake with Butter Sauce (this recipe is very similar). To die for (crack).
In front of it, you have one of the many cookie plates that circulated my parent’s house on Christmas Day-afternoon (when members of my Irish-Catholic family clan swing by and talk about the good old days on the farm). It features: Wreath cookies (like rice crispies, but with cornflakes, lots of green food dye, and cinnamon buttons), date swirl cookies, cranberry-macadamia cookies with drizzled royal icing, palmiers, sugar cookie sandwiches with buttercream frosting (split into individual pieces, because the cookies got too fat…like me), pecan bars, and pumpkin cookies with walnuts and spiced buttercream frosting. And that is barely - barely! Scratching the surface.
Love the holidays.
