i heart - like capital H heart - frank bruni. i had the pleasure hearing him speak at the new york times {thanks, itai!} when born round was being released. i bought the book on the spot, had him sign it, and shakily held a small little conversation. i miss bruni and wish he would come back as the restaurant reviewer and show everyone {ahemsamsifton} what’s what.

Tonight I had a client dinner at Gigino, an Italian restaurant down - WAY downtown - on Battery Park Place. Could literally see the Staten Island ferry putt-putt back and forth (luckily no crashes). New York magazine says it’s better than you’d expect for such a tourist-friendly location, and they’re right. Much, much better than it needs to be! I had an amazing tomato soup that...
